The Advice Centre team is here to offer advice, information and guidance to help you make your time at the ÐÂÔÂÖ±²¥ a success.
We provide a variety of support for students and our services can be accessed on both campuses via e-mail, phone or online – Find out more here.
We offer confidential and impartial support to all RVC students on a variety of matters including:
- Wellbeing Support
- Student Money Advice
- Disability, Learning Difference and Long-Term Health Issues
- International Student Matters
- Counselling and Psychological Support
- Housing
Student Wellbeing Advisers are available to provide advice and guidance on any general or wellbeing issues that you may be experiencing. They provide a confidential and supportive space to discuss any current difficulties that might be impacting on your studies or student life. They can advise on what might help you to improve your situation and work together with you to offer the most appropriate support.
They will also be able to signpost you to other appropriate support and make follow-up appointments or referrals for further assessment and support as necessary.

The Disability Adviser provides information and guidance on all aspects of Disability and SpLD's.
The Student Money Adviser offers information and guidance on financial issues and monetary concerns including Student Loans, Grants, Bursaries, Debt, Benefits and Budgeting.
The International Adviser offers guidance on visa issues and support on issues related to living in the UK.
Our Mental Health Adviser provides emotional and practical support, intervention and advice to any students who experience complex or significant mental health difficulties. Please book an appointment with a Student Wellbeing Advisor if you would like to access this service.
The Counselling Service is available to all students to offer support coping with challenges of a personal or emotional nature. Qualified and experienced counsellors are familiar with the pressures of university life. To access Counselling please book an appointment with a Student Wellbeing Adviser.
Private/Rented Housing Advice and Guidance is provided by the University of London Housing Service (ULHS) who can assist with all aspects of private accommodation. More information can be found at .

What we cannot do:
- Make decisions for you
- Tell you what you should do
- Give you legal advice
- Continue to work with you if you do not behave respectfully in accordance with the RVC Charter
What we expect from you:
- To arrive on time for your appointment or let us know in advance if you have to cancel
- To be honest with us when discussing your circumstances and to tell us everything that is relevant.
- To treat our staff with respect and politeness
- To bring us all relevant documentation and to have read any information we have asked you to read before your appointment
We aim to respond to emails and telephone calls and messages in a timely manner, usually within three working days. There may be times, however, when we are very busy which means we may take longer to respond. The Advice Centre is not a 24 hour service.
Confidentiality
The Advice Centre offers a confidential service to students of the RVC.
Confidentiality is important and we want students to be assured that the information they provide is treated with sensitivity and care. We will not share information about you with other staff within the college or externally without your permission.
Exceptions
If we are very concerned about your safety or the safety of others, we may have to share our concerns. We would always try to discuss this with you before sharing our concerns with, for example, your GP. In rare situations this may not always be possible. In these circumstances we would discuss our reasons for sharing this information with others as soon as possible after this had taken place.
Advice Centre Security
Electronic and paper files are kept in accordance with Data Protection guidelines. Financial documents are kept for a minimum of seven years after which they are securely destroyed by shredding.
