Congratulations to  and colleagues on the publication of 2 papers in ''Animal Welfare''.

Both papers discuss the use of a potential new class of novel rodenticides that induce methaemoglobinaemia. The findings suggest that lethal and sub-lethal poisoning with methaemoglobin (MetHb) inducers is markedly more humane than with anticoagulant agents. This finding is based on severity of suffering, time to death, and duration and severity of sub-lethal affects.
