Knowledge Exchange at the RVC
Since our founding in 1791, the ÐÂÔÂÖ±²¥ has engaged in research and clinical work for societal and economic benefit, focussed on human and animal medicine.
Knowledge exchange is a process that brings together academic staff, users of research and wider groups and communities to exchange ideas, evidence and expertise for the benefit of society and the economy. These partnerships are vital to enable the RVC to create new collaborations or partnerships that have the potential to generate an even greater impact from its research.

The RVC is committed to education, to the discovery and translation of new knowledge, to the protection of public health and to the delivery of optimal clinical care and opinion.
At the heart of our work in Knowledge Exchange is innovative scholarship and pioneering clinical activity, placing the College’s academic staff at the cutting edge of veterinary science and medicine.
The Knowledge Exchange Framework (KEF)
is a national exercise launched in 2020/2021. The aim of the Knowledge Exchange Framework (KEF) is to increase efficiency and effectiveness in the use of public funding for knowledge exchange (KE) and to further a culture of continuous improvement in universities. At the 2021 KEF results, the RVC ranked nationally in the top 10 per cent of Higher Education providers working with business. Additionally, the university was in the top 20 per cent for research partnerships, and in the top 30 per cent for working with the public and third sector.
The full KEF dashboard gives illustrative examples of different universities Select ÐÂÔÂÖ±²¥ from the drop down list.
The RVC offers a range of Knowledge Exchange opportunities. If you’d like to collaborate with us, or are interested in exploring funding for knowledge exchange with the ÐÂÔÂÖ±²¥, you can contact the team: ke@rvc.ac.uk
