Professor Dirk Werling elected as Chair of the European Veterinary Immunology Group
has been elected as Chair of the for the next 3 years
The European Veterinary Immunology Group (EVIG) was founded under the auspices of the European Federation of Immunologic Societies (EFIS) in 2001. EVIG aims to be a platform for communication and exchange, enhancing European research in particular, with the European Veterinary Immunology Workshop (EVIW) providing the platform for direct scientific exchange.
EVIG is run by a board of Members, who are co-opted established veterinary immunologists from the scientific community in Europe. The members are independent in their work, active in the scientific community, have experience in scientific organisations, represent various scientific areas by methods and species and their countries. Additionally member’s states include north, south, east and west Europe. Last but not least, EVIG were keen that many, if not all farm and companion animal species including fish and wildlife, should be covered.
At the recent EVIW meeting in Vienna (Sept 2-5), Dirk Werling was elected as new Chair of the EVIG steering committee. If you want to know more about EVIG activities, please visit , or join their facebook page at
