VetCompass has already published over 30 peer-reviewed papers on various aspects of companion animal health. However, outreach and public engagement is an equally important aspect to the welfare work of the VetCompass team. The novel findings from VetCompass research need to be shared widely in order to maximise the welfare benefit to animals. As part of these public engagement activities, VetCompass was proud to support the Kennel Club’s by running a Question and Answer Booth that allowed many discussions about current and future breed-related research projects. The need for reliable evidence to support optimal decision-making is now widely accepted among the dog-breeding community and VetCompass has become an integral part of this evidence-generating process.
