How to Apply (D310)
The application process for the FdSc Veterinary Nursing (D310) programme is outlined below.
UCAS
You should apply via . The UCAS course code for the three year FdSc Veterinary Nursing programme is D310. The ÐÂÔÂÖ±²¥'s Institution Code is RVET R84. You do not have to use a campus code.
Deadline: 31 January 2024 (18.00 GMT) for September 2024 entry. Do apply earlier if you can, especially if you have international qualifications as it can take some time to check whether these meet our minimum requirements.
Given the oversubscribed nature of the course and the requirement to attend an interview, we are not able to consider late applications. Please be aware that Veterinary Nursing is an alternative career to Veterinary Medicine and applications which express a clear preference for Veterinary Medicine may be looked upon unfavourably. Please contact admissions@rvc.ac.uk if you have any queries.
Work Experience
All applicants who apply through UCAS will be sent information by email about completing a Work Experience Form in the MyApplication portal. The email will detail the deadline for completing this form. This is your opportunity to provide us with more information about your work experience placements. Applications will not be assessed until the form is returned.
Applicants successful in getting to interview will be required to provide written references to support the information given on the Work Experience Form. A good reference should clearly state the dates of the placement and how many hours' work were completed, as well as telling us what sort of tasks you undertook, what your attitude was to your duties, and what your communication skills were like with staff and the public/clients.
Interview
The RVC does not offer any places on our FdSc Veterinary Nursing course without an interview; interviews mostly take place in February, invitations to interview are sent by email around 2-3 weeks before the interview date. Once issued, applicants are required to respond to their interview invitation in the MyApplication portal within 5 days. Our interviews are held in person. If invited, it is often not possible to rearrange an interview for a different date, so applicants must ensure they are available for interview before applying and inform us by email of any specific days within this time period when they are unavailable.
All applicants invited to interview will need to provide their passport (in some cases another valid form of ID will be acceptable), qualification certificates (if already completed) and work experience reference letters (see example).
