Campus: Hawkshead

Research Centres: Structure & Motion Laboratory

Maedeh studies the evolution of early tetrapod locomotion capabilities, by integrating 3D experimental analysis and computer simulations.

Maedeh graduated with a 1st class Honours in 2007 from University of Surrey with a BEng in Medical Engineering. She pursued an MSc degree in Engineering and Physical Science in Medicine at the Imperial College London.

Interest in biomechanics led Maedeh to complete a PhD degree at Imperial College London which focused on developing a new pelvic tracker to investigate the effect of spinal loading on pelvic kinematics of adolescents.

Maedeh's research interests include:

  • Comparative biomechanics
  • Muscle activities
  • Human motion analysis
  • Gait and posture
  • Lower limbs kinematic and kinetics
  • Spinal loading
  • Lower back pain
