Izzie is a Senior Teaching Fellow in Animal Management. She is particularly interested in teaching animal husbandry and handling to pre-clinical students and the impact this has on later clinical years. She has a strong interest in animal welfare, especially relating to their usage in the college. 

Izzie is also the DOPS director, responsible for overseeing the organisation and planning of assessment, staff and animal usage. 

Izzie has worked in a number of roles, including dairy units in the UK and New Zealand, sheep units, boarding kennels and catteries and even reptile shops. 

Izzie gained her BSc (Hons) from the University of Lincoln in 2018. She then spent a year in New Zealand working on a commercial dairy farm before joining the RVC in 2019, where she worked at Bolton's Park Farm. 

Izzie started her role as a Teaching Fellow in Animal Management in 2020 and gained the extra role of DOPS Director in 2020. She is the Module Leader for the Veterinary Gateway Animal Husbandry Module. 

As of 2023, Izzie is an external examiner for the University of Liverpool's Vet Course, focusing on their Animal Husbandry theme. 

Izzie successfully completed the PGCert in Veterinary Education in 2022, and has progressed to the PGDiploma in Veterinary Education (22-24).

Izzie primarily teaches students on the BVetMed Course to the Gateway, Graduate Accelerated BVetMed, BVetMed1 and BVetMed2 years. She leads the Animal Husbandry module on the Veterinary Gateway programme. 

Izzie also teaches students in their clinical years, having a role in the Farm to Fork EMS weeks held at Bolton's Park Farm each December. 

 

Izzie helps with a number of outreach projects at the RVC, including teaching students who attend the pre-Veterinary summer school, and teaching children who visit Bolton's Park Farm from a number of schools in the local area.
